09:02 PM EDT, 04/25/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Bank of China (SHA:601988, HKG:3988) has issued three tranches of green bonds overseas worth a combined $2.05 billion, according to a release on Friday.
The bonds were issued by three of the Chinese lender's overseas branches in Macau, Singapore and Luxembourg.
The $1 billion green bond issued in Macau is the largest issuance of a US dollar secured overnight financing rate bond in Asia, while the offering in Luxembourg was the first public offering of euros by a Chinese financial institution in the market this year, the bank said.
"Despite the volatile market environment, the transaction is still favored by high-quality domestic and foreign investors," Bank of China added.
